Kristee Griffin was named the Lady Tigers’ head coach on Tuesday, according to Ringgold athletic director Robert Akins.

Akins said he was confident Giffin was a good fit for the program, and would do an “outstanding job.”

Griffin replaces former Lady Tigers’ head coach Katie Burrows. She resigned to return to her college alma mater - the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga - as an assistant coach.

Griffin also played at UTC and has spend the past two seasons as an assistant under Burrows at Ringgold.

“Kristee knows the kids and the parents,“ he said. “We think Katie did a great job. But (the administrators) think Kristee can step in and do a good job too. She has a great relationship with the kids.”
