Soccer: CHS boys win second round match at Jekyll Island
The Jackets fell down 1-0 in the first half but pushed two goals into the net in the second half for the victory.
Efrain Martinez scored on a free kick in the fourth minute of the second half to tie the game up at 1-1.
With five minutes remaining in the second half, Luis Cervantes scored from an assists by Sam Maldonado to seal the victory.
Vestevia Hills controlled the action in the first half, holding the Jackets to only three shots on goal.
Calhoun stepped up their game in the second half, recording seven shots on goal.
Eric Murillo recorded eight saves in the win for Calhoun.
Jonathan Clark, Martinez and Maldonado were also standouts on the defensive side of the ball.
