Tennis: LaFayette girls stay undefeated

The LaFayette Lady Ramblers tennis team moved to 3-0 on the season with a 5-0 home win over North Murray High School on Tuesday.

Bailey Clements, Madeline Ensley and Amanda Leming lost just two total games against the Lady Mountaineers.

The doubles teams of Anna Portwood and Lindsey Murrell and Tori Hunter and Kelly Jones also claimed easy wins.

Clements, Ensley and Leming also got singles wins in a recent match against Pepperell while Portwood and Murrell picked up a doubles victory in a 4-1 win.

This past Monday, the Lady Ramblers blanked Heritage, 5-0, behind a singles sweep by Clements, Ensley and Leming.

Portwood and Murrell also claimed a win while Hunter teamed with Lindsey Hannah for a win at No. 2 doubles.

The Lady Ramblers are slated to host Model on Thursday.

Rambler boys get first win of season

The LaFayette boys’ team beat North Murray, 3-2, for its first win of the 2010 season.

Jared Marsh won in straight sets to give LaFayette one point in singles.

The team of Kenny Sartin and Joe Swindall won at No. 1 doubles while Riley Hewitt and Colt Witt earned a victory at No. 2 doubles.

LaFayette lost a 3-2 decision in a recent match against Pepperell. The two points came from team of Sartin and Swindall and the duo of Hewitt and Witt.

Sartin and Swindall picked up the only win in a 4-1 loss to Heritage.
